2022 Valley Small Batch Ripe Puer

We first came to know this tea through the tea club, and it left enough of an impression that we knew we wanted to share the magic more widely.

Back in 2022, a small series of shou puerh blends were pressed using experimental, lighter fermentation styles, with the clear intention of letting them rest and mature before release. After close to four years aging in Guangzhou storage, these cakes are finally being released in 2026. They’re still very much alive and evolving, yet already deeply drinkable.

This is not a conventional shou puerh. The lighter fermentation allows more nuance to come through — hints of raw puerh character, greater clarity, and a sense of movement alongside the familiar smoothness and depth of ripe tea.

2022 Valley makes for a beautiful daily drinker, anchored by a generous proportion of huangpian. The lighter-fermented material peeks through with an added huigan — a gentle returning sweetness — layered over the soft, grounding qualities of shou.

Each cake is 200g.
