Our Story

Our relationship with tea began years before Open4Tea had a name.

One of us first encountered pu’erh almost fifteen years ago, initially through a functional lens — as a tool for focus, clarity, and sustained energy. Over time, that relationship softened. Brewing became a way of slowing down. Attention shifted from optimisation to presence, from output to awareness. Tea revealed itself as something elemental — leaf, water, heat, and time — and as a quiet practice of listening, noticing, and connection.

Some years later, we met each other.

Nicoleta was in a period of transition, deep in her practice as a potter and artist. We fell in love, moved in together, and began to recognise that our paths had been converging long before we were aware of it — shaped by similar questions on the nature of reality, consciousness, what makes us feel grounded and connected to a greater truth and a real sense of belonging. It wasn’t long before tea, too, began to unfurl between us, like a tightly rolled leaf opening into a deeper wellspring.

Open4Tea grew slowly from this shared ground. A deep love for Nature, the cycles and the elements and a respect for the longstanding traditions and cultures of tea from not only China and Taiwan but from around the world.

We offer a small, considered selection of teas and teaware we genuinely love — chosen for their quality, character, and their ability to invite connection, conversation, and a more intentional way of drinking mindfully and living with more openness and harmony.

Is is our purpose to serve, connect and share with our community the things that bring us joy.

With love and care,

Andy & Nicoleta
